Inaugurated in 1992, the museum retraces the years of war that brought bloodshed to the country between 1980 and 1992. The causes of the civil war are presented, and photos, weapons and objects from the period are on display, along with eyewitness accounts. You can also see the remains of the helicopter in which Colonel Domingo Monterrosa, commander of the Atlacatl battalion during the El Mozote massacre, died, along with other members of the general staff. This is an important museum of remembrance.
