Puerto Barillas offers small, comfortable two-storey villas in the middle of a tropical forest (500 meters from the reception and restaurant). On the first floor, a bathroom with hot water and upstairs a bedroom with two double beds and A/C. Wifi available in the restaurant, which is open from 8am to 6pm. Approx. US$10 per meal.To get to Puerto Barillas, there's an 11-km (20-minute) unpaved road between Usulutan and Jiquilisco (with a sign at the entrance indicating "San Jose Real"). The transfer from Usulutan costs US$20 (whether you're two or eight people, it's a flat rate to cover gas and the mini-bus driver's wages).
