TEATRO DE LAS RUINAS
Large, charming theater presenting the Permanent Festival of Art and Culture with modern acoustics.
The permanent Festival of Art and Culture is held in the Teatro de Las Ruinas. Interesting shows (poetry recitals, Gregorian chants, classical music) in an absolutely charming setting: after 15 years of renovation, the theater's main auditorium now boasts an additional floor and modern acoustics designed by architect José Luis Ruvalcaba, deputy director of Mexico's National Museum of Architecture. The auditorium can accommodate up to 300 people. It was the filmmaker Alejandro Cotto who gave it its name, in 1991.
