CAYAGUANCA PEÑON
At an altitude of 1,622 meters, you can observe toucans, anteaters and a 180° panorama of the surrounding mountains.
Peñon de Cayaguanca, 6 kilometers north of San Ignacio, rises to an altitude of 1,622 metres. You may even spot toucans or the astonishing anteater. Magnificent 180° panorama of the surrounding mountains. Count on a 6-hour round trip; there is a path, but it's often in poor condition. Signs point you in the right direction. The hike is rather difficult... but you'll be rewarded by the magnificent views once you reach the top! Make sure you have good shoes and plenty of water.
