Toncontin International Airport is located 6 km from the center on the road south to Choluteca. Traffic is much lighter than in San Pedro Sula, the preferred access point for North Americans heading straight for the Bay Islands or the ruins of Copán. There are car rentals, a snack bar and souvenir store, as well as a bank. The TicaBus stop is nearby. You can take a cab to the center or a local bus right across the street.
