Not far from Herrera Park, the Manuel Bonilla National Theatre was built in 1915. Its façade is in pink stone, while the interior decoration was inspired by the Athénée in Paris. Regularly restored, it is a major building in the Honduran arts scene. Every year, it hosts numerous theatrical, dance and musical performances. In September, it is also the venue for the national science, art and literature awards.
