The San Cristóbal fort, with its immaculate white turrets, is the perfect place for a stroll. The fort was built by the Spaniards in the 19th century to fortify their positions and prevent a civil uprising. It was never actually used. Here you can see the tomb of Juan Lindo, President of Honduras and El Salvador from 1847 to 1852. The fort is well preserved and maintained. But the main attraction is the lovely view of the village, its bell towers and Celaque mountain in the background.
