Trujillo's old cemetery is a place steeped in history, where you can learn a great deal about the city and its surroundings. Like most cemeteries in Central America, it's clean, quiet and well-maintained. An interesting visit to the city center, just a stone's throw from the coast. It includes the tomb of the legendary William Walker, who was shot in Trujillo on September 12, 1860, after dominating Nicaragua from 1855 to 1857 and attempting to found a Central American slave republic.
