Built between 1880 and 1881 (to plans by engineer Federico Fiallos) on the site of the former town palace, this building boasts an imposing neoclassical façade with numerous colonnades. Inside, there are two floors of offices and a municipal hall, where public meetings and other Comayagua community events are held. In 1979, it was again extensively renovated: much of the structure (except the facade) was demolished and then rebuilt to improve space.
