One of the city's most emblematic monuments is the Caxa Real, built between February 21, 1739 and 1741. During the colonial era, the building housed the Quintos Reales taxes and the city's treasures. Destroyed by earthquakes, it was renovated to enable it to resume its former functions. It is now home to the Museo de la Mint, where interesting coins from all eras are on display. A true national treasure!
