7 km from the town, it is made up of an interesting rainforest. A well-marked path leads from the village of Río Negro (reached by taking the road to La Libertad and then a fork in the road at San Jerónimo; likely departures from Comayagua from the market around midday, allow 2 hours' drive), where it is possible to reach a beautiful waterfall called El Gavilán (allow 3 hours round trip). It is possible to sleep in Río Negro.
