You can also visit the pre-Columbian ruins of Dos Quebradas. Little or nothing is known about them, as only one archaeological expedition was carried out in the 1930s. You have to get to the village of Guacoca, a few kilometers from La Avispa, then Dos Quebradas, 1 km further on; the site is just 5 minutes away. The site consists of tumuli and a monolith known simply as "piedra grande". The locals are welcoming, and you'll find out just what life is like in the region.
