Next to the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, this church, built in late Renaissance style between 1609 and 1629, was rebuilt in 1956 following the ravages of war. It boasts the highest tower in the old town, but the interior is of no particular interest. In front of the church stands an 18th-century statue of a reclining bear. Legend has it that this was a prince who was petrified with grief when he saw his beloved leaving the church, married to another man.
