Built in the 19th century according to the project of the Italian architect Antonio Corazzi, this theater, one of the largest in Europe, has an opera hall with nearly 2,000 seats. During the siege of Warsaw in 1939, it was bombed and burned almost entirely. Only the façade survived. There is a small museum dedicated to it, which also explores the entire history of theater in Poland. You can even visit it before a performance if you plan to go to the theater.

Tosca to przyjemna opera. A przepiękny temat z 3 aktu (z arii E lucevan le stella) który znałam wcześniej i jego wykonanie na żywo wzrusza jeszcze bardziej. Chyba każdy się nim zachwyci. A zupełnie inne wrażenie przywołała mi orkiestra, w przerwie strojąca instrumenty. Gdzieś z annałów mojej muzycznej pamięci usłyszałam chyba Deep Purple z koncertu, gdzie też brała udział orkiestra. Próbuje korzystając z YT odnaleźć to, co zabrzmiało mi w uszach.

Sala prosi się o remont. Niewygodne siedzenia, średnia akustyka. Rezerwacja internetowa wybranego miejsca mocno odbiega od tego co zastajemy na miejscu.
