On the street leading out of the Porte des Remparts, just past the Church of the Holy Spirit, this splendid 18th-century classical-style building has housed the city's historical archives since 1972-1976. Unfortunately, it is closed to the public, and only those lucky enough to be doing official research on Poland will be allowed to enter. Nevertheless, it's a great place of learning and architecture in Warsaw, frequented by the country's scholars.
