Built in the 17th century, this Baroque castle belonged to S.-A. Poniatowski, who converted it into a royal residence in 1766. Later, it was used as barracks and a military hospital. Partially destroyed during the Second World War, it was demolished in 1954 and rebuilt in 1970. Since 1981, it has been home to the excellent Centre for Contemporary Art (Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Zamek Ujazdowski). It's one of the city's best museums. We recommend it.
