This museum houses 450 paintings by the greatest European masters, donated to the clergy by prominent families. It is known for its exceptional history in the art of forgery. After being admired for the great names of the painters on display, over time doubts began to creep in. Art historians, in particular Dr. Mieczysław Morka of the Institute of Art at the Polish Academy of Sciences, proved that many of them were forgeries.
