This tower is thought to have been Copernicus' study and observatory. Dating from 1400, it is the oldest element of the fortifications on Cathedral Hill. In 1504-1543, it belonged to Nicolaus Copernicus, and since 1610 has been known as the Copernicus Tower. Unfortunately, having been destroyed several times and then rebuilt, little of the original remains, and the reconstruction of Copernicus' quarters is not the most authentic.
