BISKUPIN ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM (MUZEUM ARCHEOLOGICZNE W BISKUPINIE)
The archaeological park spans a surface of 28 ha. The fortress rises on the near-island and is accessible by two doors, one of which is the historic fortified entrance connected by a wooden pontoon. Half of the ramparts, as well as two large houses, of the originally owned by the village, were reconstructed. They are home to an exhibition of photographs of the history of See excavations and present the furniture, weaving and stone houses of the era. An archaeological museum displays the objects discovered during excavations in the See region and traces the daily life of these men, through their eating and clothing habits, their way of life and their beliefs, attesting to the authenticity of the site. On the outside, an animal park brings together the various high species. Every year in September, an archaeological festival is held. For several days, it is a question of tracing the life of the time through real performances in costumes and presentations of various activities (manufacture of bread, currency, work of iron…). Concerts animate the festivities. In summer, boat trips on the lake allow a different view on the site (Tuesday to Sunday, 9 h to 17 h,-hour excursion).
