Founded in 1353 in late Gothic style, the impressive basilica was remodeled in Baroque style in 1790 (which can still be seen today). In the right wing of the basilica is the sanctuary of St. Jospeh, featuring a painting of the Holy Family dating from the second half of the 17th century and said to possess miraculous virtues. Its classical bell tower is the oldest in the complex, dating from 1820.
