Originally a power station built in 1897, the building was only converted into the Philharmonie in 1996. The first concert was given here in 2002, and renovation work was only completed in 2006. Today, the Philharmonie boasts four concert halls: a 1,100-seat main hall, a 180-seat chamber hall, a 200-seat jazz hall and the 100-seat Oak Hall. The Philharmonie also boasts an attractive art gallery, and is gradually making its mark on the landscape.
