The world capital of amber has a museum dedicated to this resin. Inaugurated in 2000, it is located in the Fore-Gate complex (Zespół przedbramia). Built in the 15th century in Gothic style, it forms an ensemble with the Upper Gate. It houses the association of the Prison Tower (Wieża Więzienna) and the House of Torture (Katownia). From the 17th to the 19th century, the city's prison was located here. The exhibition is organized over five floors and is devoted to amber, from the formation of the precious resin to the design of art pieces and jewelry.

Beau cadre et très intéressant.
Plein de choses à apprendre ici et plein de jolies pièces à voir. Un musée sympa et agréable en cas de chaleur. L'ambre n'aura plus de secrets pour vous.

dommage que l'on nous oblige aussi de visiter la prison (que le ticket soit combiné encore passe mais pas moyen d'y échapper pour sortir du musée de l'ambre il faut se farcir l'autre que l'on en ai envie ou pas )
