SAINTE-MARIE CHURCH
Built in the late 14th century by the Franciscan order, this imposing red-brick church may look austere from the outside, but it's nothing of the sort on the inside. In fact, the building is superbly decorated with period frescoes and long stained-glass windows. Particularly eye-catching are the three naves featuring 14th-century frescoes on the life of Christ. The star-shaped vaults are decorated with floral motifs. The church houses the Baroque mausoleum of the Swedish princess Anne Vasa, sister of King Sigismund III.
