The Pionier cinema was founded by Albert Pietzke in 1909 as the Helios cinema. It is the oldest surviving cinema in the world. The first screening took place here on September 26, 1909. The cinema was renovated in 2002 and equipped with modern technology. However, it still retains all the charm of yesteryear. Films can be watched in a plush armchair in the comfortable auditorium, or at table in the Kiniarnia bar two floors down. This retro-style room has also remained true to its era, with its 1898 piano.
