As is often the case, accommodation will be the most important part of your budget. To reduce the costs, check the websites of the accommodation providers (when they have them) or take advantage of the discounts offered by the promoters like on booking.com. For a week, expect to pay an average of 50 € per night in a mid-range hotel (2 to 3 stars), a sum that can explode in season.

To be booked

The summer period from May to the end of August is the high season (concentrated in the summer months). During these weeks, book in advance the hotel that you like, it will not be empty.

What's very local

Apartment hotels are a big hit in the Royal City. They are good value for money options that are often quieter than classic hotels. The Soviet style, with brown and faded yellow tones, wallpapered walls and carpets, is still very much present in the older establishments.

For food lovers

In Central Europe, we enjoy the continental breakfast. As is often the case, it is usually quite "original", with not always incredible local brands and interesting variations on cheeses and hot dishes. However, this typical 2000-2010 trend is changing to healthier breakfasts, with more pastries, and often much better.

Smokers

All the accommodations are non-smoking. The legislation is strict and well respected. We formally advise you against smoking cannabis (it is illegal in Poland). The Poles have a zero tolerance and you will be denounced very quickly for the smell. The police in the city center regularly arrest tourists who thought they were a little too clever.

Tourist traps

Unscrupulous apartment developers practice bait and switch. It is very difficult to anticipate scams. Our advice is to avoid deals that are too good to be true and if possible not to pay in advance.
