JUVENALIA

One of the oldest student traditions in Europe, now copied all over the world, comes to occupy the streets of the royal city.
Juvenalia is an annual student festival held in May, following a tradition that dates back to the 15th century. In its current, rather recent form, it begins with a symbolic handover of the keys to the city to the young people, who can then take control. This is followed by concerts, sports games and drinking parties, before the grand finale on Friday: a parade in fancy dress and music from the AGH campus to the Rynek (the main square). Outside Krakow, the tradition has been taken up all over the country.
