This museum traces the life of Józef Czapski, an exiled Polish painter and writer whose biography is emblematic of an entire generation of patriotic intellectuals who fell victim to both the Nazis and the Soviets. Archival footage, video interviews, archive documents and his personal effects explain the changing geopolitical situation in Europe during the life of Czapski, survivor of the Katyń massacre. Personal objects include a superb collection of coins, medals and banknotes.
