The museum is located in the birthplace of this giant of the national spirit and honorary citizen of the city. It provides an opportunity to see the apartments/workshops where the great master of national romanticism lived and worked until 1893, when he died. The permanent exhibition includes unique works by Matejko, family memorabilia and antiques, especially oriental and western weapons collected by the painter during his lifetime and which he used for his art. It is a nice visit just a stone's throw from the Rynek.

Cette maison qui est sur l'avenue principale dans la vieille ville vaut le coup d'oeil. On entre dans une maison polonaise du XIXe siècle encore meublée et surtout on admire les collections d'art du peintre qui est un amateur de beaux objets. On a encore sur son chevalet la dernière de ces toiles.... visite sympathique A découvir...

Very interesting museum and very nicely decorated. Numerous works by Jan Matejko which are added to those that you can also see in the National museum in Halle aux Draps. Charming welcome and absolute cleanliness. A visit not to be missed in Krakow, close to Rynek.
