The only authorized pharmacy in the ghetto was run until the last deportations by Dr. Tadeusz Pankiewic who, refusing to leave the neighborhood, was the only non-Jew living and working in the ghetto. Thus, from 1941 to 1943, he helped the Jews of the ghetto. He delivered medicine and food, brought news from outside, provided false papers and hiding places. He died in 1993 and was honored by Israel with the title of Righteous.

Seule pharmacie du ghetto, elle était tenue par le docteur Tadeusz Pankiewic, seul polonais non juif à vivre et à travailler dans le ghetto. La Pharmacie de l'Aigle (Apteka pod Orlem) présente une histoire moins célèbre que celle de l'usine Schindler (sans doute à cause du film de Spielberg) mais elle a cependant joué un rôle essentiel au sein du ghetto de Cracovie et a servi de bouée de sauvetage pour de nombreux juifs. À l'intérieur se trouve une exposition présentant le rôle important que la pharmacie a joué dans le ghetto. Un conseil, soyez curieux, ouvrez les tiroirs...

La "pharmacie de l'aigle" est située sur la Place Bohaterrow Getta dans le quartier de podgorze à environ 10 minutes de marche de Kazimierz et 20-25mn du rynek, petite mais très intéressante à visité, photos et vidéo avec casque audio (pas en français!) proche de la fabrique d'oscar Schindler qui est également très intéssante donc possibilité de combiné le ticket.
