CHÂTEAU

It is not known who and when was built the first castle, but it is certainly one of the oldest of the Cracovien Jura. Casimir the Great would have ordered to demolish the previous, or would have transformed it from the base. Originally, it consisted of a tower of 20 m, housing and a small courtyard, all surrounded by fortifications. In particular, those sentenced to death were confined to death. There are many passages and corridors in the underground, making them real labyrinths. The castle had to endure many assaults and had been burned by the Swedish troops. Since then, it has never regained its splendour and in 1772 the abandoned ruins have disintegrated to Has on Olsztyn. It is now under restoration.
