HISTORY MUSEUM
Housed in the town's Renaissance castle, the museum has departments devoted to the history and arts of the region, but above all it houses a superb collection of icons, the only one of its kind in Poland. Nearly 300 works from the 15th to 18th centuries are on display, providing an insight into the artistic and liturgical importance of icons in Orthodoxy. The museum's top floor is devoted to the work of the multidisciplinary artist Zdisław Beksiński, who was born in Sanok, died in Warsaw, and has a well-established worldwide reputation.
