At the beginning of the 20th century, the Przemyśl fortress was one of the largest in Poland and Europe. Compared to Verdun, it comprises some 30 fortified sites scattered across the wooded hills, surrounding the city with a 45 km belt. During the First World War, 100,000 soldiers died here. The sites can be visited by bike or on foot. Not to be missed! We recommend Siedliska and Jaksmanice, Dunkowiczki, Orzechowce and Łętownia. A visit rich in history.
