CHRIST KING'S CATHEDRAL (KATEDRA CHRYSTUSA KRÓLA)

Built between 1927 and 1955, on the site of a former brick factory, next to the Archdiocesan Museum, it is the largest church built in Poland during this century. Its style is rather unique, inspired by the ancient temples, but with a surprising sobriety in this era of embellishment. One can feel the weight of the reinforced concrete used for the construction. The interior decorations are quite successful, especially the mastery of light.
