THE GREAT FAYÇAL MOSQUE
Built under Sékou Touré, it is the largest mosque in West Africa. It can accommodate more than 12,000 worshippers. Its four green tiled minarets can be seen from afar. It is located opposite the Donka hospital. To access it, women must cover themselves from head to toe (headscarf mandatory and not provided). Access is free, but you will probably be asked for a small contribution for its maintenance. In the courtyard is the Camayenne mausoleum, where some national heroes are buried (Samory Touré, Sékou Touré, Alpha Yaya).
