Traditional festivals organized in villages in Upper Guinea in May, the Baro festival is the best known today. Officially, it lasts one night and one day and is inaugurated by a ceremony accompanied by dances and the rhythm of djembe players. At the end, the participants gathered around the pond, equipped with nets and traps, rush into the water at the signal of the keeper of the place with the hope of catching even a small fish. The festival is above all the occasion for the nationals of the region to communicate in the same fervor.
