PLANTATION OF QUINQUINAS
Go there and contact
The Sérédou quinquina plantation is a must-see for the view from the heights.
From the 1930s, Sérédou became a center for quinine production. After independence, the activity continued until it was gradually abandoned. Today, there is not much left of the cinchona plantations, from which quinine was extracted. The excursion is worthwhile as much for the visit of the place as for the view from the heights. You can also go to the house of the former governor, a colonial style house with an old-fashioned atmosphere lost in the vegetation. To get there, ask at the agronomic center.
