The railway station, or Gare du Nord, is at the end of Movarounhar Street (Tashkent metro station). The Afrosyab train links Tashkent to Samarkand in around 2 hours, even at weekends. The Sharq train runs between Tashkent and Bukhara in 7 hours, serving Samarkand in the process. The Nasaf train serves the south of the country as far as Karshi every day except Monday. Numerous night trains also connect these destinations.
