Tamara, Uzbekistan's most popular dancer and singer. As a soloist with the Uzbek Philharmonic Orchestra, she played an active role in the reform of Uzbek national dance. But she also became world-famous for her repertoire of folk dances and songs from different countries. Her home, where she died in 1991, was converted into a museum a few years later. The museum features many period photos taken wherever the artist performed, and an exhibition of her superb stage clothes.
