CAFÉ ZARAFSHAN
Next to the Museum of Applied Arts, which flanks the Islam Khodja minaret. Probably the most beautiful terrace in Khiva. Traditional cuisine in a madrasa dating from 1908. Come and feast on the specialities prepared by a smiling, lively female brigade, which you discover as soon as you step through the front door. Shivit is the specialty, as are the many different kinds of ravioli. Filled with stewed meat, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots... Served with sour cream. The tasting platter is top-notch! But to be shared!
