This is Khiva's oldest monument. A domed mausoleum was built around the tomb of the Sufi sheik Said Alauddin, who died in 1303. A ziatkhona, a small room leading to the tomb, was added under Allah Kuli Khan in the 19th century. The majolica-covered tomb, with its superb blue and green plant motifs, is the work of Amir Kulal, a ceramist from Bukhara. He was to have been buried here alongside the Sheik, but this never happened. Two tombs but one body!

Il y a tellement de monuments superbes que celui ci peut être évité sans aucun regret, sachant qu’en plus il n’est pas compris dans le ticket global.
