These gates, the most impressive in the city, take their name from the village where the 1873 treaty attaching the Khiva Khanate to the Russian Empire was signed. They are located in Mustakillik Street, next to the palace of Nouroullah Bey. They consist of a single passageway flanked by two graceful turrets, beautifully decorated with blue majolica. They were completely rebuilt by the Soviets in the 1970s, based on archival documents.
