It was built between 1904 and 1910, before the arrival of the Bolsheviks, by Muhammad Rahim Khan, known as Ferouz. The combination of oriental styles with the luxury of St. Petersburg is striking, and testifies to the fascination exerted by the sumptuous life of the tsars on the last khans.
