KHAZRATI IMAM MOSQUE
Go there and contact
Built near the mausoleums in the 18th century, the mosque is named after an 8th-century saint whose body Tamerlane is said to have brought back from Baghdad. While the alley leading to it is cluttered with tourist souvenirs, you can stroll between the walls. They mark the ancient foundations of the buildings that once adjoined the mosque. A superb iwan with wooden columns. This little maze leads to Tamerlane's crypt. Back in the mosque's central courtyard, enjoy the shade of the hundred-year-old trees with their impressive trunks.
