Built by Ulugh Beg in 1437 for his family, this square-shaped mausoleum is surmounted by a cylindrical drum decorated with Kufic inscriptions, on top of which rests a blue dome. The interior is superbly decorated with geometric, epigraphic and floral frescoes. Alongside the family tombstones are the tombs of the Sayyids, a dynasty originally from Termez, descendants of Hussain, Mohammed's grandson, who gave their name to the mausoleum.
