TAMERLANE CRYPT
Go there and contact
The tomb that Tamerlane reserved for himself and his sons remained forgotten for a very long time, only to be rediscovered by chance in the 1940s. Its extreme sobriety is surprising, as it stands in stark contrast to the mausoleum in which he was laid to rest, the Gour Emir of Samarkand. It was more in keeping with his wishes: a simple tombstone engraved with prayers, in a small, cool and silent crypt, whose walls also bear inscriptions carved in stone. This is one of the most interesting and touching places to visit in Sharisabz.
