It is useful to tell readers that, following the crash of a Boeing 727 in July 2011, in Iran's Western Azerbaijan, the European Union has listed the Boeing 727, 747 and Airbus A 320 aircraft in the Iranian Air fleet as a black list. The accident followed many others in previous years due to the vintage of Iranian aircraft. Lifting sanctions should allow Iran to finally purchase spare parts for its aircraft, but these are still very outdated.
