NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NIZAMI GANJAVI LITERATURE
Set in a very beautiful home of the European city (originally the hotel Metropole, the most part of the Azerbaijani capital), this museum, founded in 1939, was first dedicated exclusively to Nizami, whose name it also bears. His collection expanded in 1967 to focus on the whole of Azerbaijani literature, including works by Nassimi, Fizuli, Vagif, Jargon and Vurgun, to name only the most famous writers. The objects presented are relatively diverse: carpets, ancient coins, manuscripts, lithographs, books, personal objects of authors, paintings… everything distributed in the 26 pieces of this great house in the very characteristic facade (statues of the country's main literary figures are coiled into niches, especially spectacular when lit at night).
