A long dyke along the Caspian, now a favourite place for Bakin residents to stroll
Initially, Boulevard, it is only a few dozen meters from the rich oil magnates in the early twentieth century. The general plan at the time is the work of the Azeri architect Memed Hasan Hajinski. Today, the Boulevard is a long excavated dam along the Caspian, extending over almost the entire central bay of Baku. It has become a favorite promenade for the Bakinois who stroll through it while enjoying the freshness of modern and air-conditioned shopping malls, taking pictures next to the many statues that are arranged all along the coastline, or stopping in one of the many outdoor restaurants or cafes that open their doors from here. the arrival of the beautiful days. You can also take a small tour at sea on often crowded boats. Going back to the Boulevard Eastward, in front of the Tower of the Virgin, you can admire the Hajinski residence, one of the palace's most stunning exterior architecture. Built in 1912 for Isa Bey Hajinski, a landowner who made a fortune following the discovery of oil on his land, the home has two very different facades. On five floors, it was also at the turn of the century one of the city's highest houses. The faces sculpted in its facade are particularly visible from the summit of the Virgin Tower. In Soviet times, the house was divided into several apartments. General de Gaulle would have spent one night on November 26, 1944 at a stop between Tehran and Moscow, where he had to meet Stalin…
By continuing westward, you will arrive at "Little Venice". A set of canals and fnstands designed for the greatest happiness of families and children, and makes it possible to make a small walk in the gondola (motorized) on a freshness table. Right behind is the center of the Mugham and the imposing building housed in the Carpet Museum. The building itself evokes a rugged rug. The walk can continue until the flag of the Flag-National, which with its 70 meters out of 35 was simply the largest flag on the world's skirt until 2011, when it was detrited by Dushanbe, in Tajikistan.
The other unavoidable boulevard is opposite the west side. This is the amazing Dom Soviet, the government house, which houses several ministries. This large building, square in the back and open in U form on the seafront, was built in part by German prisoners of war of the Second World War. Walking on foot allows you to browse one of the most interesting parts of Boulevard: the sea or the sea is more valuable than the buildings and the walkers come looking for a touch of romanticism. Wooden jetties make it possible to make progress on the Caspian and go, like all bakinois, to make a few selfie with the statues arranged this and there around the old captains. The new marina attracts gazes, with its first luxury yachts and, at night, turn to an eye on the "Flame towers", illuminated of lights alluding to the flames, the colors of Azerbaijan or at the core of the sporting theme of the moment remains a must!
