MIRMÖHSUN AGA MAUSOLEUM
Go there and contact
This recent mausoleum has its two blue domes very characteristic towards the sky of the peninsula. This place of very frequented pilgrimage is also animated by speakers, spreading verses of the Koran in continuous fashion.
The pilgrims'donations are returned to local charities. The mausoleum is dedicated to a dead saint in the 1960 s. The latter, nicknamed the "lord meat", suffered from a crippling disease, which deprived it of any bone structure. History tells us that the Soviets wanted to send it in exile, but no vehicle chartered to drive it out of Baku was ever willing to start. Azerbaijani cadres, attached to this character whose reputation was known to all Muslims in the country, then succeeded in persuading Soviet leaders to leave the Holy Man at Home. The mausoleum is built on two floors, the ground floor being reserved for women, the first floor for men. The pilgrims revolve around the grave by reciting prayers. A man sitting in a tailor in a corner of the room also sings verses of the Koran over the course of the day.
