From the name of sub-Lieutenant Dufau, whom Sultan Tégama was beheaded after the attack of the Azalaï de Bilma, escorted by the French soldiers. He was the French military station built in 1905 and besieged from 17 December 1916 to 3 March 1917 by the Tuareg.
